I have 30 years experience in oilfield chemicals, and offer consulting and advisory services to support strategy development & execution, business development and strategic marketing. I have particular experience in oilfield production chemicals, and have worked for oilfield service companies and chemical manufacturers. My previous employers include Clariant, BASF, Sichem, TR Oil Services / Hoechst and National Starch & Chemical. I have held senior executive roles with general management, commercial, strategic, operational, manufacturing and technical responsibilities. I am available for consulting, non-executive board positions and interim executive roles. I focus my efforts on the oilfield chemicals industry, but am also open to projects supporting SMEs in Yorkshire and the North Midlands across a diverse range of industries.

2019 - 2020 Commercial Director, Seal For Life Industries. Managed global sales, marketing and technology for a manufacturer of corrosion protection / coatings for pipelines and critical infrastructure. Restructured marketing and technology to focus on strategic growth targets. Achieved sales growth and re-vamped sales pipeline processes.
2016 - 2019 General Manager & Head of Oil Services North Sea, Clariant. Led development and execution of new 5 year growth strategy; achieved 6% CAGR sales growth; profitibility improved from 12% to 19%; restructured UK and Scandinavia organisational structure into a single unit.
2013 - 2016 Sales Director - Eastern Hemisphere, BASF Oilfield Solutions. Sales and marketing responsibility for Europe, Middle East, Africa, CIS and Asia Pacific. Achieved 20% sales growth 2013-14; following major market downturn in 2015 sales continued to grow slightly accompanied by significant margin improvements. Member of Executive Leadership Team for global strategic business unit.
2009 - 2013 General Manager, Sichem LLC. P&L responsibility for mid-sized chemical manufacturer in Abu Dhabi. Producing intermediates for oilfield and other industrial uses, including quaternary amines, quaternary alkyl pyridines, carboxymethyl cellulose, triazines and betaines. Toll blending and manufacturing for oilfield service companies. Turned round profitibility from breakeven to 12% net profit within six months; achieved 45% sales growth and further profitability improvement during subsequent three years. Improved cash flow and reduced working capital requirements.
1994 - 2009 TR Oil Services / Hoechst / Clariant - Held a variety of roles in the Middle East and Asia Pacific Regions, including Technical Service Engineer, District Manager, Marketing Manager and Vice President. Established operations and achieved first sales into the Chinese market. Grew Middle East business from $6 - $25 in four years. Managed sales, business development, marketing and supply chain operations.
1991 - 1994 Research & Development Chemist, National Starch & Chemical. Synthesis and application of water-soluble polyacrylate chemistry in oilfield, water treatment, personal care, detergent and other industrial applications.
