Dr Hurley is an accomplished, results oriented and MBA educated Senior Business Development and Marketing Director with proven Technical and Operational leadership credentials, and a wealth of experience developing, patenting and commercialising environmental mitigation products within the Chemical, Plastics/Polymers, Surface Coatings, Pharmaceutical, Environmental, Power and Water Utilities, Radiochemical sectors throughout the last 30+ years.
Through Blake International we offer consultancy in all aspects of product innovation, business and market development, supply chain and change management consultancy, from analysis and conceptualization to project management, implementation and delivery.

Dr Hurley is an independent consultant in marketing, business development and environmental chemistry working in the fields of heavy metals remediation, biodegradable polymers and fine chemicals. He has been responsible for many disruptive innovations, and marketing strategies. He holds 12+ patents and patents pending for ‘disruptive innovations’ in the fields of chemistry, chemical devices and environmental remediation. Dr Hurley has a strong technical background in the Chemical Industry, having previously worked with Glaxo (GlaxoSmithKline - GSK) , Upjohn (Pharmacia & Upjohn Ltd) and Amersham International plc (GE Healthcare Life Sciences). Following his MBA from Manchester Business School he has worked in General Management and Commercial Management in the chemical sector, as; Marketing Manager for Holliday Dyes and Chemicals and HCH Group business development coordinator 1990-1993, Sales & Marketing Director for Croda Colours 1993-1995 and Sales & Marketing Director for Jaysynth (Europe Limited), a subsidiary of Jaysynth Group of India 1995 to 2010.
In 2005 Dr Hurley created his own technology start-up venture – Cylenchar Limited. Cylenchar is a ‘clean-tech’ research and development business registered in England. Its mission is; ‘to become a leading global provider of technical solutions to environmental problems’. Cylenchar is currently developing and commercialising patented and proprietary technologies for in-process control of pollutants, including; heavy metals, SO3 and dioxin emissions to the atmosphere, as well developing new ‘smart waste’ technologies, to achieve environmental sustainability and whole life-cycle management through effective and sustainable product and process design.
