A seasoned chemical industry professional with leadership experience in North America and the UK, in domestic and international marketing, sales, business development and business management with major companies in the chemical, petrochemical, petroleum refining and environmental services industries. Combining a background in the conventional petro-based industry with experience in the growing field of bio-based chemicals and polymers, Peter has a deep understanding of business sustainability and the realistic options for sustainable growth, including the importance of public perceptions.
Engaged primarily in market and business assessments, and development and implementation of growth strategies, projects included assessing the value of target companies’ commercial contracts, market position, and technology, as well as market assessments and due diligence assignments on behalf of investors. At this stage of his career Peter is interested in exploring non-executive, advisory roles that would make use of his expertise.
Since returning to the UK in 2004 Peter conducted a number of projects including techno-economic feasibility assessments of the production and marketing of PLA (a bioplastic), and of the recycling of PET. From 2016 until 2019 he participated in two DOE projects for scaling-up an advanced combustion technology. Peter also developed and delivered training courses on optimising petrochemicals businesses, and organised conferences on bioplastics, biomass processing, and clean coal technologies.
